is MIXED!
Its been almost four years
since we tracked Prophets and we never got to completely finish
the project... but thanks to some elbow grease and the new
SYVERB convolution reverbs, we finally have a finished record...
still goofy and experimental... but finished!!! Be sure to

We've
got a new Domain Name
Several months ago, we lost our
old domain dropband.com. Unfortunately we were the victom of
a corporate ploy and because we were short on money, our domain
hosting company lied to us and sold our domain to a large company
who is now holding it hostage for $5,000.00!!! Can you imaginge
that?
It seems because we have been having some success with our promotions
and generating tens of thousands of hits per month, they saw
this as a profitable move. Unfortunately for us, this traffic
doesn't generate money for us... but all they see are numbers.
So here we sit... we're now www.thedropband.com and we're thrilled
you found your way here!!! |

The
Drop Band on NBC
Some of you haven't heard yet
but we found out quite by accident that "Find Your Mind"
from Dropout was used in the hit NBC TV show "Ed"
last year. This was part of a cooperative publishing deal with
ACM Records in NYC. We noticed a huge increase in our web traffic
because of this and wanted to thank all of you who discovered
us through the show!!
ACM was also responsible for obtaining licensing deals for us
on the MTV shows Road Rules, Extreme, Undressed, and Senseless
Acts of Video. |

As many of you know Paul is involved
in producing and education as well as being a founder of The
Drop Band. In the course of every week he invariably ends up
recommending many books and after a number of requests from

Paul
Develops New Reverb for Syberdelix Records
 Have
you heard about the new impulse response convolution reverbs?
As you may know, besides playing guitar and writing for the
Drop Band, Paul is also a freelance engineer (currently working
for MDI
Studios in MA). Part of the creative gig in keeping the
Drop Band moving forward is studio development and he's broken
some new ground...
The product is called SYVERB and consists of over 250 reverbs
developed from scratch. It's a unique collection of different
sounding patches and represents the first in a series of 5
planned volumes to be released by the end of the year. This
experimental technology facilitated the completion of the
Drop Band's third record, Prophets,
which until now remained in an unfinished state.
If you're an engineer or a home recording producer, don't
wait for this technology to find you!!! It's GREAT!!!
Convolution Reverb takes an audio sample of a room in which
a started pistol has been fired and reads the ambiance of
the room while removing the burst of the gun. The result is
an accurate reproduction of the space being sampled. Paul
went a step further and began synthetically designing spaces
impossible in real life. The result turned into SYVERB Vol1:
Raw Spaces and is now available from Syberdelix Records.
